During the holiday season, we often put an emphasis on “shop local.” Why? Because your dollar goes farther when you are supporting a local business in your community. By choosing a gift to Northwest CASA, you are supporting local survivors of sexual violence by ensuring no man, woman, or child has to face the medical & legal system alone after experiencing the trauma of sexual violence.
Your contribution is part of a collective community movement to ensure free, quality services including counseling are available to those who may be looking to regain their hope, their direction, and their life. Although we have no control of the past, we can ensure that survivors don’t stand alone to face the future. As one of our survivor clients said about Northwest CASA services:
“I don’t know where I would be without them, to be honest with you…The work of making myself feeling better, not feeling guilt…has brought me such inner peace for myself, and for those who care about me because I’m not the same person I was before that happened, but I’m sure better than I was after it happened”
In addition, Fast Company recently published an article titled “Nonprofits focused on women and girls receive just 1.6% of all charitable giving.” It highlights how “nonprofits battling women-specific issues are radically underfunded.” This means that donor dollars going to Northwest CASA are keeping it local AND making a direct impact to a population that is underserved & underfunded. Double Impact!
This year join us in the movement of #ILGive keeping it local & keeping it at home.
